Director of Residence Experience & Lifestyle

As we continue to grow across California, we are seeking a forward-thinking Director of Residence Experience & Lifestyle to help shape the future of senior living.
This position will work directly with executive directors and program directors at our portfolio of properties to ensure that a full social calendar of activities, clubs, classes and events for residents are available to enjoy. Reporting directly to chief executive officer, this is a hands-on position for a result-driven individual with a passion for creating meaningful programs for the active adult community.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement and manage a comprehensive lifestyle and life enrichment program that promotes wellness, engagement, and a high quality of life for residents in our independent living, assisted living and memory care properties.
Ensuring programs meet all dimensions of wellness: physical, social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and culture wellness.
Foster an inclusive and engaging environment where all residents feel encouraged to participate.
Develop new innovative programming that is unique to the culture of the community and markets.
Periodically visit communities to coach teams, monitor programs, and support execution of activities at the ground level.
Evaluate software programs that are cutting edge, then ensure that software is utilized across all properties and is kept up to date.
Collaborate with marketing / sales to showcase lifestyle programs; support community’s value proposition.
Work with program directors and other departments to assist residents plan activities and events.
Conduct regular team meetings to maintain high program standards.
Manage the department’s budget and ensure effective allocation of resources.
Assist in opening new communities; help setup program space, recruit lifestyle/programming staff, establish internal program calendars and vendor relationships.
Participate in strategic planning for expansion of program offerings, possibly new markets or service lines.
Create and communicate lifestyle offerings through newsletters, calendars and digital platforms.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, licensing requirements applicable to programming.
Requirements
5+ years of relevant management experience in a senior living or related field.
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. (Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Leisure Studies, Education, Gerontology, Hospitality, or related). Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
Prior multi‐site or regional leadership / management experience.
Leadership experience in product optimization, strategic planning, project management, or business development, preferably within senior living, hospitality, or healthcare.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment with a hands-on approach.
This leadership role requires creativity, strong organizational skills, and a deep understanding of the social, emotional, and physical needs of the active adult community.
Certified Activity Director (NCCAP or similar), CPR/First Aid, or other relevant certifications preferred.
